Kathryn Blair, 4th year BFA (Hons) Visual Arts student at the University of British Columbia. UBC Arts Co-op program. Completed 3 work terms; 2 with the software company Business Objects as a technical writer, and 1 as a web designer with the UBC Arts Co-op Program. Looking for work in a web design firm starting in May 2009.

Self-taught technical skills, including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, XHTML, CSS, Wordpress, and Typo3. Worked with Dreamweaver and Premiere Pro. Enjoys learning skills quickly, e.g. learned Typo3 while working on the UBC Arts Co-op site. Keeps up with current trends in web and graphic design, knowledgeable about web standards and cross-browser compatibility. Visual arts training has enriched design skills, taught me how to think outside the box, problem-solve conceptually and technically.

Recent web design projects include volunteer work for the Intestinal Disease Education and Awareness Society (IDEAS), the Arts Co-op Students’ Association at UBC, and paid work for Trigena Systems Ltd., Discovery Music Ltd., and the UBC Arts Co-op Office. Check out my Design Portfolio.
